Joan M. Hall, 89, of Sheboygan Falls and formerly of Oshkosh, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan.
Joan was born February 21, 1936 in Oshkosh to Eugene and Bernice (Grunewald) Gruse. She grew up in Oshkosh, graduating from Oshkosh High School in 1953. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, she worked in the Purchasing Department at Oshkosh Motor Truck.
On November 23, 1957, she was united in marriage with Richard “Dick” Hall at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. In 1959, the couple purchased the 160-acre property near Poynette later to be known as the Buckridge Tree Farm. It was selected in 1988 as the Wisconsin Tree Farm of the Year.
A lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Joan was baptized, confirmed and married there.
Joan is survived by her son Douglas Hall of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren Ahren, Spencer and Audrie Hall; sisters Barbara (the late Gordon) Rabe of Oshkosh and Sharon (William) Frailing of Portage, MI; brothers-in-law James Cahil and Robert Robertson, both of Oshkosh; sister-in-law Shirley (the late LaVern) Peterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick, her parents, sisters Beverly Cahill and Sandra Robertson.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
