John Ten Dolle, Age 90, of Hingham passed away peacefully at his home into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday afternoon, September 1, 2026
John was born September 30, 1935 to John and Grace (Vander Weele) Ten Dolle. He graduated from Oostburg High School. He was united in marriage to Margery Dykstra on August 27, 1955 in Hingham.
John was a long-time member of Hingham Church. He retired from Buteyn Excavating where he was a skilled backhoe operator. He used that skill to dig a pond on his property and was still a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for vegetable gardening. He always planted way more than he needed so he could share with family and friends. John and Marge spent many winters on Anna Maria Island in Florida where he loved to go fishing with Captain Mac. One year he had a hole in one while golfing and even made the local paper. They also made annual trips to Branson, MO and Door County and enjoyed traveling throughout America.
John is survived by his daughter, Janice (Kurt) Casady, son-in-law Steve Rogers, daughter-in-law Wendy Ten Dolle, grandchildren Sarah (Charles) Fitzgerald, Michael Ten Dolle, Kevin Ten Dolle, Zachary (Kelly) Rogers and Jesse Rogers. Great-grandchildren Keelin Fitzgerald, Abigail Fitzgerald, Benaiah Rogers, and Evangeline Rogers. Brother Glen (Annette Ten Dolle, sisters-in-law Harriet Ten Dolle, Lillian Dykstra, and Linda Dykstra, brother-in-law Eugene Wassink, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marge, of 67 years, son Steven Ten Dolle, daughter Kris Rogers, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd Ten Dolle, Carl (Edith) Ten Dolle, and sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (Jim) Dulmes, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cornelius (Bernice) Dykstra, Henry (Elsie) Dykstra, Ralph (Beverly) Dykstra, Robert (Lou Ann) Dykstra, Sidney Dykstra, Gerald Dykstra, Willard (Minnie) Dykstra, Sylvia Wassink, and John Dykstra.
