Jon David Gardner

Jon David Gardner, 77, of Sheboygan Falls, left his physical body behind to rejoice at his Eternal Home on February 12, 2024. He was born January 24, 1947 in Manistique, MI to the late LeRoy and Luella (Carrothers) Gardner.

Jon spent his younger years serving in the US Army during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Germany.  Jon and Evelyn were married soon after his Army days and moved to Sheboygan Falls, WI in 1969, where he spent his career in maintenance for Kohler Company.  Jon enjoyed all the pleasures life had to give.  Hunting, fishing, raising animals, woodworking, motorcycles, attending his children’s sporting events, and more recently, attending sports and performances of his youngest grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother-in law, Doris Hubble, Manistique, MI, Shirley and Richard Hider, Muskego, WI; two brothers, Raymond Gardner, Manistique, MI, Robert Gardner, Green Bay, WI; and grandson Jonathan Gardner, Sheboygan, WI.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three children: Robert Gardner, Tina (Richard) Hogan, Matthew (Ashlie) Gardner; grandchildren: Lydia, Parker, William, Brent, Kyle, Robert Jr, Shyanne; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his furry, loving, golf-ball-collecting, riding buddy, Coco.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the care team of Sharon Richardson Community Hospice and the very special CNA staff of Pine Haven Christian Communities on Giddings Avenue.

Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls is serving the family.  According to his wishes, there will be no public memorial, however a memorial fund is set up in his name to support Oostburg Christian School for families in need.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
