Joyce Rauwerdink, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Cedar Grove Gardens. She was 93 years old.
Joyce was born October 18, 1932, in the town of Lima (Ourtown) to Marvin and Agnes (Debbink) Ludens. She attended Hillcrest School and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1950.
On February 28, 1952, she was united in marriage with Gilbert Rauwerdink in Gibbsville. He preceded her in death in 2006 after 54 years of marriage and countless cherished memories.
From 1950-1953, Joyce worked in bookkeeping at the Bank of Sheboygan. The years following were filled with farm work and raising her family.
A longtime member of Hingham Church, she was involved with Girls League, Women’s Guild, Patchwork and Prayers, Thursday morning prayer group and bible study group, and the church library board. She mentored for Good News Prison Fellowship and was a volunteer leader for Oostburg Senior Fellowship. She enjoyed reading, quilting, helping others, embroidery, spending time with family, listening to Christian music, and traveling, especially to Florida in her retirement.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Kathy (Fred) Voskuil of Oostburg and Ann (Ric) Villa of Cedar Grove; grandchildren: Kelly (Matthew) Lee, Jill (Nick) Davies, Julie (Robert) Lee, Jacob (Katie) Rauwerdink, Megan (Michael) Bigari, Macy (Matthew) Ewing and Jordan (fiancé Anne) Villa; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Price and Donna Wensink; brother Dwight (Sylvia) Ludens; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert, son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Barbara Rauwerdink, granddaughter Erin Rauwerdink, brothers-in-law Allen Price and Melvin Wensink and sisters-in-law Lillian (Milford) Grotenhuis and Mildred (Burton) Tempas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Hingham Church. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Joyce’s obituary page at wenigfh.com. She will be laid to rest beside Gilbert at Hingham Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 9:30AM-11:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or City Church of Compton, CA.
