Kathryn Ann Rauwerdink, 89, of Oostburg, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loving family on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Kathy was born on November 8, 1935, to Benjamin and Florence Kappers in the Town of Lima. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1953.
On August 25, 1956, Kathy was united in marriage to Warren Rauwerdink in Hingham. They shared 58 years together before his passing on July 21, 2015.
Kathy was a member of Hingham Church. She served for many years on the Discipleship Focus mission trips to Branson, Missouri. Kathy enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, camping, reading, scrapbooking, and watching rodeos on TV. She was talented at cooking, baking, and sewing. Kathy loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her children Darrell (Mary) Rauwerdink, Steve (Nora) Rauwerdink, and Randy (Rochelle) Rauwerdink; grandchildren Adam (Cocav) Rauwerdink, Kristen (Brandon) Root, Brandon Pace, Kyle Pace, Brian (Stephanie Dercks) Rauwerdink, and Kevin Rauwerdink; great-grandchildren Iona and Signe Rauwerdink, Eleanor, Madelyn, and Adelaide Root, Hunter and Sawyer Pace, and Vivian Rauwerdink. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law Roger (Marilyn) Rauwerdink and David (Karen) Rauwerdink; sister-in-law Jean Kappers; sister in Christ Nelvie Herr; goddaughter Nancy DeJong; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, parents, parents-in-law Lester and Hazel Rauwerdink, siblings Harold “Kap” (Mary) Kappers, Audrey (David) Dolfin, Mary (Lauren) DeTroye, Lawrence Kappers, sisters-in-law Marion Johnston and Edith (William) VanWyk, and brother-in-law Leon (Muriel) Rauwerdink.
A funeral service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held at Hingham Church on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Hingham Cemetery next to Warren. Visitation will be held at church from 10:00am until the time of service.
