Linda A. Dykstra

Linda A. Dykstra passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at home on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by family. Linda was born December 23, 1948, in Port Washington, WI to Marvin and Lois Anzia. Linda grew up in Belgium, Wisconsin with three younger brothers and two younger sisters. She learned how to work hard at a very early age and carried that virtue with her throughout her entire life.

Linda graduated from St. Mary's Lake Church Grade School in 1963 and from Cedar Grove-Belgium High School in 1967. On March 11, 1967 she met the love of her life, Richard Dykstra, at a teen dance and they remained a devoted couple for the next 59 years. They danced for the last time at a grandson's wedding just two weeks before Linda passed away.

Linda and Rich were married August 31, 1968 at Hingham Reformed Church with Rev. Reuben Ten Haken officiating. They settled into an upper apartment next to Dutch Cleaners in Cedar Grove, where they spent the first five years of their married life. Linda and Rich dreamed about owning their own home someday. They built their dream home in 1972 and Linda lovingly cared for it for the next 54 years.

Linda and Rich raised five children in their Cedar Grove home, with an age gap of twenty-two years between the oldest and youngest, and have a 29-year gap between their oldest and youngest grandchildren.

Linda worked full-time for the first three years of their marriage so Rich could complete his college education. She often stayed up into the wee hours of the morning if Rich had to complete a project or assignment.

Linda's goals in life were to be the best wife, mother, grandmother, friend, employee, Christian, and community volunteer that she could be-and she aced it. While her children were in elementary school and high school, Linda worked part time at a variety of jobs. In 2009, when her youngest child graduated from high school, Linda expanded her presence in the work force, with employment at Molly Brusse's Housekeepers, Walvoord's Berry Farm and a fifteen-year stint as custodian at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Linda also helped found and operate Dykstra Engineering from 1982-2017 and served on the Cedar Grove Library Board for more than twenty years.

Linda had a servant's heart, helping others at the drop of a hat. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with family and friends and taking care of her sixteen grandchildren. She also loved watching the Gilmore Girls (over and over), reading, vacationing, walking with friends, shopping, spending time with the other Linda Dykstra, cheering on the Packers and Brewers, and going to her children's and grandchildren's activities, whatever they may be. Linda was a wonderful role model who will be sorely missed and greatly admired.

Linda is survived by her husband, Richard; children: Stacy (Shawn) Mains, Christopher (Laura) Dykstra, Sally (Josh) Ketterhagen, Erin (Jon) Hoffmann, Jordan (Sean) Engel; grandchildren: Shay, Keegan (Hannah), Keely (Meagan), Ailish, and Aoife Mains, Grace and Dylan Dykstra, Bryce (Kenzie), Logan, Cole, Reid, and Grady Ketterhagen, Lexi, Avery, and Brynn Hoffmann, and Gavin Engel; siblings: Jeff Anzia, Deb (Mark) Wieberdink, Joanne (Jim) Voskuil, Pete (Marybeth) Anzia, Jim (Wendy) Anzia; siblings-in-law: Jim (Susan) Dykstra, Mary (Tom Saler) Dykstra; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lois; parents-in-law, Henry and Elsie Dykstra; and sister-in-law, Barb Anzia.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Pastor Zach Tarter, Pastor Lincoln Rus, the entire Faith Church congregation, and Aurora Medical Center for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral services to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 12:30pm. Visitation will be held at church from 9:30am until 12:15pm. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service by visiting wenig.live/LindaDykstra.

A memorial fund is being established in Linda's name. All proceeds will be divided equally between Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
