Linda R. (Howell) Uglem, 79, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Linda was born in St. Joseph’s County in Indiana and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1961. Linda had many hobbies including quilting, oil painting, gardening, cooking gourmet meals, hiking, biking, tennis, golf, creative arts, and listening to Gospel music. She won an award back in 1976 as Best Supporting Actress at the La Crosse Community Theatre. She graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. degree in Education (1966). Linda followed that with an M.S. degree from Purdue University in Speech Pathology (1971) coupled with an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Madison (1991).
Linda was a member of the Sheboygan Evangelical Church and was active in church Bible Studies, Life Groups in the home, church theatre, and missions board culminating with mission trips to Mexico and Belgium.
Linda worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and public schools for over 43 years. Anyone who ever met Linda will always remember her energy, enthusiasm, sense of humor, spiritual knowledge, and wisdom and above all, her willingness to help others. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by Wayne, her husband of 47 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Fern Neisius (Paul), and twelve grandsons, Luke, Noah, Devin, Moses, Solomon, Job, Judah, Gideon, Phinehas, Enoch, Abel, and Shamgar, and many great grandchildren and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Elam and Bernice (Milliken) Howell; brothers, Eddie Howell, Larry Howell, Bennie Howell, and H. Dean Howell.
A funeral service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10:30am. Linda will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
Relatives and friends may greet the family from 9:00am until the time of service.
Memorials are appreciated in Linda’s name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
