Lois Mae Meeusen, 91 of Cedar Grove, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Lois was born to Willis and Sadie (Schreurs) DeBruine on March 7, 1930 in the Town of Holland. She worked at Musebeck Shoe Company until she married Wesley Meeusen at her parent’s home on November 19, 1948. He preceded her in passing in 1981.
Lois was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed being a part of Bible studies and Ladies Aid at church. She was an accomplished seamstress, making everything from bibs for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to bridesmaid dresses, and everything in between. Also, very talented in craft making, having painted many ceramic items for the family. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed raising her four children.
Most of all, she loved her family, blessed with three daughters, Linda Herber, Carol (Dale) Huenink, Joy (Scot) Smies; one son, Dale (Joan) Meeusen; 14 grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Ognacevic, Kevin (Lisa) Herber, Sara (Mike) VanWagenen, Laura (TJ) Hendrikse, Holly (Kevin) Kiel, Heidi (Matt) Moeller, Paul (Steph) Meeusen, Tracy Schubert, Aaron (Danielle) Nett, Stephanie (John) Balnaitis, Mitch Huenink, Brian (Sharon) Smies, Katie (Cody) Ellens, Kelly (Kurt) Franje; and 38 great-grandchildren. She was proud to learn of another great-grandchild and her first great-great-grandchild due at the end of this year. Lois is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Bernice (Chester) Brusse, Ellsworth DeBruine, Roland DeBruine, and Glenn DeBruine.
A funeral service will be held for Lois at Calvary OPC Church in Cedar Grove on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 12:00pm with Rev. David Cornette officiating. Family and friends may greet the family at church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary OPC Church and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
