Lucille M. Cardarelle, 86, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Lucy was born April 1, 1936 in Washington County, the daughter of Anton and Lillian (Wienke) Wiedmeyer. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1953.

On October 16, 1954, she was united in marriage with Melvin D. Cardarelle at Holy Angels Church in West Bend. The couple shared 67 years together.

Lucy loved children and in addition to raising her own, she babysat countless children over the years who remember her as their “Auntie”.

Lucy was a member of Blessed Trinity, where over the years she had served on the Parish Council, taught religious education, led the religious education program, and participated in the human concerns committee. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers and loved socializing whether it was bringing her friends to the Senior Center or spending time with her family and friends.

Lucy is survived by her husband Melvin and their children: Mary Jane (Jeff) Cardarelle-Hermans of Bradenton, FL, Joseph (Jennifer) Cardarelle of Sheboygan and Sandra (Chris) Bruggink of Hilton Head, SC; grandchildren Dawn Cardarelle, David Cardarelle, Lance Cardarelle, Jacobi (Nadine) Cardarelle, Trevor Cardarelle, Max Bruggink, Sam Bruggink, Alex Jowett, Luke Jowett and Nick Cardarelle; great-grandchildren Camren, Janayah, Jaidah and Cayden; sister Dolores (Roger) Stoffel; brothers-in-law Roger Luecke and Ardel (Eunis) Cardarelle; sister-in-law Janel Wisner and Janette Cardarelle; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Louis and Hada Cardarelle; sister Joyce Luecke, brother Lawrence (Carol) Wiedmeyer, brothers-in-law Donald (Jeannette) Cardarelle and Dennis Cardarelle.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Lucy’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Parish in Sheboygan Falls. Father Jonathon Schmeckel will officiate. All are welcome to view a livestream of the funeral mass on Lucy’s obituary page at www.wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 11:00AM-1:00PM.

Lucy will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Blessed Trinity Parish.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Meadow View Manor and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
