Lynelle Kay Merritt, 56, of Cedar Grove, gracefully entered Heaven on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Aurora Grafton Medical Center. Lynelle Lilyquist was born on December 15, 1961, in Sheboygan, WI, to Gerald and Catherine (Roelse) Lilyquist. She was a 1980 graduate of Sheboygan South High School, and the dental assisting program at Lakeshore Technical College. On April 7, 1990, Lynelle married Stuart Merritt at First Reformed Church in Oostburg. Lynelle worked as a dental assistant for years with Feider/Tiboris Dental Office in Sheboygan. In later years, she operated a cleaning business that was a special blessing to so many people. Growing up, she attended The Salvation Army in Sheboygan, WI and most recently, attended the First Reformed Church of Cedar Grove where she was very involved with children's, youth and music ministry. She enjoyed gardening, music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lynelle is survived by her husband, Stuart Kenneth Merritt; three sons, Joel (Ali) Merritt, of Waukesha, WI, Michael (Amanda) Merritt, of Raleigh, NC, and Peter Merritt, of Cedar Grove, WI; two granddaughters, Sage and Joy Merritt; mother, Catherine Lilyquist; and four brothers, Russell (Judy) Lilyquist, Earl (Carol) Lilyquist, Brian (Barbara) Lilyquist, and Rendy (Sue) Lilyquist. Lynelle is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lynelle was preceded in death by her father, Gerald S. Lilyquist; and a brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Joan Lilyquist. A service to celebrate Lynelle's life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11:00 am at the First Reformed Church of Cedar Grove. Relatives and friends may greet the family for a time of visitation at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, July 6, 2018, from 5 pm until 8 pm, and again at the church on Saturday from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am. Memorials may be designated to the the Awana youth program at the church of your choice, the music fund of the First Reformed Church of Cedar Grove, or to the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer program, in honor of C.R. Santosh Kumar, MD.The family also wishes to gratefully acknowledge Keith C. Bible, MD, of the Mayo Clinic, Ben George, MD, of Froedtert Hospital, and Nancy McLaughlin, APNP and Kyleen Flores, RN, cancer nurse navigator, of Aurora's Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, all of whom were involved in fighting alongside Lynelle in her valiant struggle.Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
