Peggy Wilcox, 76, of Sheboygan Falls went to her heavenly home in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2022, at her home in Sheboygan Falls surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee on May 1, 1946, to Frank and Catherine Dittmer (Ripple) and was baptized on May 26, 1946, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1964. Peggy married Lee Wilcox on May 18, 1968, and together they raised two children, Jennifer and Allan. After her children were in school full time, she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from LTC and then spent a number of years using her nursing skills. She retired as Director of Nursing from the Sheboygan Retirement Home in 1996.
Peggy was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls where she belonged to a number of organizations in prior years and volunteered as a Parish Nurse. Peggy was also an associate member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Minocqua, Wi where she spent most of her summers for the last 25 years.
Peggy enjoyed traveling with Lee and the family and she was a loyal Packer fan and an avid reader. She especially enjoyed her up north home in Woodruff, WI which she always described as her “little piece of heaven on earth”. Most of all, Peggy enjoyed being a “Mom and Nana” and absolutely treasured every single moment with her three grandchildren. She never wanted to miss any church, school or other event in which they were involved.
In addition to her husband Lee, Peggy is survived by her daughter Jennifer Kahler of Hobart, WI, her son Allan (Shelly) of Oshkosh, WI and her grandchildren Libby Kahler, Cooper Wilcox and Brayden Wilcox. She is further survived by her sister Joanne Leonsteiner of Watertown WI and brothers David (Tracy) of Rochester, MN, Don of Scottsdale, AR and Bruce (Debbie) of Kiel, WI and also her sister-in-law Betsy Wilcox of Madison, WI as well as many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Catherine Dittmer, in-laws Frank and Gladys Wilcox, brother-in-law Jerry Wilcox and nephew Ryan Wilcox.
Peggy, we will all miss you dearly, but we celebrate knowing that your suffering is over and that you are now home in the presence of our heavenly Father.
“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have fought the good fight, run the race and have been found faithful”.
A memorial service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00am with Pastor Kyle Backhaus officiating.
