Maria Kuehmichel

Maria Jane Kuehmichel, age 62, died at home on May 6, 2020. She was born to Maria Bailey on August 6, 1957 in Wayne County, MI. At age six she was welcomed for adoption by Milton and Betty Koponen of Redford Township, MI. Maria graduated from Lee M. Thurston High School, Redford Township, MI, then trained and worked as a Dental Assistant. She married Brian Kuehmichel in Cook County, IL in September, 1978 and came to Marshfield, WI. The family moved to Sheboygan in August, 1994. Maria was also housewife, home school mother and conference speaker, 4-H leader, Adult Foster Care Provider, writer, musician, song writer, crafter, quilt maker and seamstress, AWANA leader, Bible study teacher, and friend.Maria was predeceased in death by her father in March, 1965; her brother James in January, 1999; and her mother in December, 2014. She is survived by her brother William of Traverse City, MI; by her husband Brian; by son Benjamin, wife Amanda, and their daughters: Aleah, Eliana, and Miriam; by daughter Hannah, husband Ken Howe, and their children:Emina, Kester and Aleezah; and by daughter Sharlena, husband Seth McKenzie, and their sons: Daveed and Lukias. She leaves a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A memorial service will take place at the Evangelical Free Church in Sheboygan on Friday, August 21, 2020, at 6:00 pm. Friends and family may greet the family from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
