Marvin Fischer

March 18, 1932 — April 13, 2019

Marvin Elroy Fischer, 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Waterford North. Marvin was born on March 18, 1932, in Eureka, SD to Reinhold and Freidricka (Litz) Fischer. He was a 1950 graduate of Eureka High School. Marvin served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. On August 24, 1952, Marvin married Geraldine Buechler in Bowdle, SD. Marvin worked at the Kohler Company in the pottery division until his retirement in 1994. Marvin was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as usher, and was also on the dart ball team for St. Paul's and St. Luke Lutheran Church. Marvin was a member of the American Legion Post 149, and was active with the Boy Scouts. Marvin enjoyed working with his hands, especially woodworking, carving, ceramics, pottery, and jigsaw puzzles.  Marvin is survived by his wife, Geraldine Fischer; five children, Cinda (Michael Kallio) Taubenheim, Randy (Sharon) Fischer, Kandace (Jeff) Moyer, Jeffrey Fischer, and Bruce (Amy) Fischer; eleven grandchildren, Zachary (Tiffany), Craig (Kirby), Jake (Samantha), Julie, Travis (Lauren), Josh, Tyler (Amanda), Tiffany (Hayden), Brandon (Ashley), Jeremy (Angela), and Noah; ten great-grandchildren, Desiree, Brody, Annabelle, Clark, Michaiah, Emma, Tanner, Porter, Brooks, and Calvin; and one sister-in-law, Lila Oster. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Ryan; five brothers; three sisters; and two brothers-in-law.   A memorial service to celebrate Marvin's life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 1 pm at St, Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. An inurnment will take place at St. Lucas Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the church from 11 am until the time of service at 1pm.  A memorial fund is being established in Marvin's name for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, American Cancer Association and American Heart Association. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Waterford and Sharon S.
