Mary "Kathy" Carman

Mary Katherine Carman, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the age of 84.

Born on July 19, 1941 in Sheboygan Falls, WI, Kathy grew up surrounded by family, faith and community. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School.

On January 19, 1962, she married the love of her life, Quinten “Buck” Carman, and together they shared a long and happy marriage filled with devotion and partnership. In 1978, Kathy became the proud owner of the Sewing Machine Shop in Sheboygan Falls, which she operated until 2005. Through her business, she not only shared her talent, but also built lasting friendships.

Kathy was the heart of her family. She is survived by her husband Buck and their three children: Tim (Nancy) Carman, Sarah (John) Grey and Katy (David) Korman; grandchildren Brad (Laura) Carman, Lauren (David) Byrne, Ellie (Alex) Somers and Margaret Grey; five great-grandchildren; siblings Nancy (Don) Gehrke, Jim Kuplic and Brad (Jana) Kuplic; sisters-in-law Paula (Paul) Gregg and Gail Havenor; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Les Kuplic and Nancy Kuplic (Jerry) Wierman, her sister Linda (Brian) Moore, sister-in-law Betty Kuplic, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law on the Carman side.

Her greatest joy was found in caring for and raising her family – and in her deep love of dogs. A passionate breeder and exhibitor of rare breed dogs, Kathy devoted much of her life to the animals she cherished. She was also exceptionally skilled in sewing, knitting and a variety of crafts, and she enjoyed sharing her gifts through cooking and creativity.

Kathy will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her love of family, and her boundless devotion to both people and pets alike.

Kathy will be laid to rest at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
