Mary Ann Shannon, 100 years, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan. She was full of spunk and personality right up until her last day.
She was born April 7, 1925 in Elcore Missabi Mountain, MN, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Jasper) Nadlishek. She graduated from Hibbing High School in 1943 with honors. She moved to Wisconsin, where she made her home and raised her family. In her younger days, she loved riding her motorcycles and looked forward to rides by the lake in Milwaukee with friends.
She retired in 1976 from National Food in Milwaukee, and spent most of her retirement in Sheboygan with her life partner, Nick Bova.
Mary’s Catholic faith was important to her, and a guiding light in her life. With a zest for everything she did, Mary was passionate about living life to its fullest. She loved baking, sewing, gardening, canning, and was proud to crochet for over 70 years. A skilled artist, Mary was known for her beautifully detailed drawings. She loved her children and was very proud of her family.
She is survived by her daughters Carole J. Recore and Dianna J. Balistreri; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by sons Gary Lee Bash and Randolph Lee Bash, and life partner Nick Bova.
According to her wishes, Mary was cremated and a private family gathering will be held.
