Melinda Sue Parlow, 61, of Port Washington, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Melinda was born on April 28, 1963, in Port Washington to Marvin and Shirley Parlow. She attended Grafton High School and lived at The Oak Court Group Home in Port Washington for over 20 years. Melinda was employed with Portal Industries in Port Washington. 

Melinda enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley and Fats Domino and driving with her mother and relatives to places like Branson and Nashville. She loved yo-yoing, playing harmonica, bowling, swimming, doing puzzles, dancing, and playing cards. She loved the many bus trips she took with her group home family and friends, especially Michele Poull Biddle and her family.

Melinda is survived by her sister, Michelle (Bruce) Wieckhardt, and brother, Mike (Ann) Parlow. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Parlow in 1979.

She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and all who knew her.

A celebration of Melinda’s life will be held at the Patio Bar and Grill in Port Washington on July 6, 2024, from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. 

Melinda’s family is gratefully indebted to the home for the unfailing, exemplary care and kindness Melinda received from her caregivers. Special thanks to Donna, Kirsten, and her close friends Albert, Kimmy, Melanie, and Sean at Prime Horizon. Also, special thanks to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
