Nancy Lee Truby, 83, of Oostburg died at Pine Haven Christian Residential Home in Oostburg on Friday morning, August 24, 2018.Nancy was born on September 13, 1934, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Robert R. and Dorothy (Thompson) Calpass. Nancy graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh in 1951 and then continued her schooling to become a registered nurse. On July 8, 1955, she married William Truby in Pittsburgh. Nancy briefly worked as a registered nurse, although she considered her primary occupation to be a devoted wife and mother to her family. Nancy and her husband raised their family in Wauwatosa up until the time of Bill's retirement in 1992, followed by their move to their retirement home on Lake Michigan in Oostburg.Nancy is survived by her husband, Rev. William Truby of Oostburg; three daughters, Dorothy (Glenn) Huth of Appleton, Amy (Bernie) Lange of Madison, Polly (Adam) Heavenrich of Glencoe, IL one son, Michael (Amy) Truby of Appleton; 13 grandchildren, William, Vince, Kerry Huth, Nicole Powers, Kaitlin (fiancé Joe) Powers, Bernie (fiancé Alessandra) and Stephen Lange, Samuel, Becca, and Lilly Heavenrich, Peter, Jacob, and Olivia Truby; one sister-in-law, Florence Truby of Oakmont, PA and one brother-in-law George Truby of Leechburg, PA.Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Kitty (Lou) Pastorius and one brother, Glenn (Julia) Calpass.Nancy was a member of the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan where she served as an usher and with the Altar Guild. She was a dedicated and long-serving volunteer for Luther Manor and Lutheran World Relief. Nancy enjoyed gardening, knitting, bird watching and reading. Most of all, she cherished the time she could spend with her loving family.A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held at the First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 2 pm with the Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Family and friends will gather at the church from Noon until the time of service at 2 pm.Memorial donations may be made to First United Lutheran Church, Pine Haven Christian Communities or the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.The Truby family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of Pine Haven Christian Communities and the Sharon S.
