Pauline Jens

Pauline Jens, of the Town of Lima, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 surrounded by her beloved family. She was 98 years old.

Pauline was born September 13, 1926 in Crandon, WI daughter of William and Mattie (Plummer) Taylor. She grew up in Crandon, graduating from Crandon High School in 1944. She continued her studies at Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1947 as a Registered Nurse.

Pauline was introduced to William “Bill” Jens in 1949, and they married in September of 1950. Bill and Pauline farmed together in Butler, WI for twelve years until the encroaching suburbs compelled them to seek another location to continue farming. In the fall of 1961 Bill and Pauline and their first 5 kids moved to Sheboygan County, continuing to farm in the Town of Lima and adding two more children to the family. Pauline worked at Milwaukee County General Hospital at the beginning of her nursing career and after the move to Sheboygan County she worked for many years at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan and later at Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Center as a nursing supervisor. Pauline was a woman of deep spirituality and faith with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. She believed in the power of prayer and her rosary beads were always close at hand.

Mom was adventurous and young at heart. She was a sports fan who cheered for the Packers, Brewers and Bucks, but her favorite was any team that had one of her kids or grandkids on it. Mom loved life! For Mom, the central focus of her life was her family and family gave her the greatest joy. She loved babies. Every grandchild and great grandchild was “just the cutest little thing and the best baby!” We learned that the cutest and best was whoever was in front of her or on her lap at the time. We were all special in her eyes and we all adored her. Mom’s first thought was of others. She was kind and gentle and forgiving and tireless and she had a great sense of humor. She was a great wife and life partner to our dad and showed us how to be completely dedicated to him, while standing on her own at the same time. Mom taught us how to live a life of strength and dignity by the way she lived hers… head on and with a never ending sense of the wonder of it all. She urged us to always love each other and always stay close to each other. Her legacy is grace and beauty and love.

Pauline is survived by her sons and daughters and their spouses, Tom (Beth) Jens and Jerry (Marty) Jens both of Sheboygan Falls, Rob (Beth) Jens of Beaver Dam, Mary (Tony) Jens-Mauer of Waldo, Tess (Joseph) Jens O’Hern of Grafton, Joseph (Melissa) Jens of Fredonia, Kathy (Tim) Huibregtse of Grafton, grandchildren Cassie (Connor), Joe (Mila), Erin (Josh), Nick (Amber), Jacob, Sara (Brent), Ann, Kelly, Briana, Madelyne, Jim (Natalie), Abby (Sean), Adam, Sam (Rachel), Shaun (Vanessa), McKenna, Alex, William, Natalie, Wyatt and Jack; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Bill, parents, grandson Zach Mauer, great-granddaughter Avalene Jens, sister Lillian (Arthur) Lutterman and brothers Eugene Maloney and James (Marvel) Taylor.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Father Michael Lawinger officiating. She will be laid to rest beside Bill at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Wednesday from 10:00AM-1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Pauline’s name to be donated to the many charities she supported throughout her life, especially St. Vincent de Paul and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to thank Father Michael Lawinger for his visits, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate support allowing Pauline to stay in her home with her children caring for her.
