Ralph Andrew Katt

Ralph (Butch) Katt concluded his earthly walk with Jesus on Friday, February 20, 2026, in the company of his family and the comfort of his home. Born on June 17, 1943, to Ralph and Cornelia Katt of Sheboygan, WI, Butch touched many lives in the 82 years he spent on this earth. He married the love of his life, Sandy, shortly after high school, and together they spent 62 blessed years raising a family, serving in their church, camping across the country, and volunteering in many different capacities.

Butch spent much of his life servicing and washing cars with his dad and brothers at their family business, High Speed Oil Co., which later became, Katt’s Tire and Auto. Butch employed and patiently mentored a large number of young people gaining their first work experience pumping gas and drying cars. He fondly remembered all his customers, especially those who paid their bills.

Butch loved taking on new adventures, providing much joy for his family and friends as they joined him camping, biking, running, boating, and skiing. Ask people to tell you their favorite “Butch” story! One of his greatest adventures was finishing the Boston Marathon at age 49!

After retiring, Butch refused to slow down, volunteering in many capacities with CRC Disaster Relief Services, Love Inc., ReStore, and most of all, at his church, Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Butch loved to serve however he could, in the likeness and love of his Savior, Jesus.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Cornelia (Otte) Katt; two sisters, Mary VanVuren and Kathy Nyenhuis; one brother, Ken Katt, one daughter, Amy DeVries, and one granddaughter, Johanna Katt.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Jensema) Katt; two brothers, Jerry and wife Lorene Katt, Bill and wife Gloria Katt; one sister-in-law, Shirley Katt, two brothers-in-law, Gordy VanVuren and Jake Nyenhuis, one daughter, Jackie, and her husband Peter Verhulst, of Milwaukee, WI; one son, Andy, and his wife, Penny Katt, of Allendale, MI; one son-in-law, Herm DeVries, of Grand Rapids, MI, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation is under the care of Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls. The family invites you to a celebration of God’s faithfulness in Butch’s life on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 2313 Saemann Ave, Sheboygan, WI.
