Roman G. Brotz, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was 77 years old.
Roman was born September 6, 1947 in Sheboygan, the son of Ralph T. and Esther E. (Wangemann) Brotz. He attended school in Kohler, graduating in 1967. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lakeland College. In 1976 he joined his family’s business, Plastics Engineering Company, where he worked for 40 years, retiring in 2016.
An avid music lover, Roman played the piano and guitar, and held many memories of his years playing in The Matedores. He also enjoyed both riding and collecting motorcycles.
Roman is survived by his siblings: Michael R. (Pat) of Kohler, Marsha S. Brotz Blake of Kohler, John Brotz (Gwen Ninmer) of Kiel, Mary (Larry) Gordon of Waupaca; brother-in-law Michael DiTusa of IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Ralph R. “Randy” Brotz, sister Frances DiTusa, infant brother Gerard W. Brotz, sister-in-law Kathie Brotz and nephew Michael “Mickey” Brotz.
Funeral Services celebrating Roman’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Immanuel Bible Church, 2428 Superior Ave. in Sheboygan. Pastor Aaron Smith will officiate. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Roman’s obituary page at wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
He will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to HSHS St. Nicholas Foundation and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank the 4th floor nurses and Doctors at St. Nicholas Hospital, the caretakers and nurses at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their angelic care and comforting concern, and Dr. Bettag for his sound council.
