Ron Meinen, 85, at Froedtert Hospital with Shirley and his loving daughters at his side, passed to his heavenly home and is safe in the arms of his Lord and Savior. Ron was born to Herbert and Edith (Harmelink) Meinen on September 9, 1940 in Sheboygan. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1958.
Ron & Shirley (Jensema) made their marriage vows 'til death do us part' on July 6, 1962 at Oostburg Reformed Church, have been blessed with 63 years of marriage, 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Laurie (Jay) Huibregtse and their children Jamie (Scott) Burgin - Brielynn; Corissa (Jesse) Thornsen - Laina and Eleah; Morgan (Aaron) De Blaey - Henry and Declan. Danette (Todd) Hoftiezer and their children Lindsay (Eric) Seider - Lily, Ben and Charlotte; Alyssa Hoftiezer; Nick Hoftiezer; and Jackie Hoftiezer, Nicole (Paul) Mentink and their children Sawyer (Alia) Mentink and Macey Mentink. He is further survived by his sister Carolyn Bruggink, and brothers Carl (Carol) Meinen and LaMont (Sally) Meinen; and sisters-in-law: Nancy (Ron) Westerbeke, Ruth (Ken) Arentsen, and brother-in-law: David (Karla) Jensema; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law: Ells and Marie Jensema; and brother-in-law Neil Bruggink.
Ron and Shirley are active charter members at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Ron served as an elder, youth counselor, and many maintenance projects. Ron proudly wore the watch and jacket gifted to him for the 25 years as a volunteer with the Cedar Grove Fire Department as well as one of the founding members of the Cedar Grove First Responders. He loved singing with the Men of Harmony for many years. Ron enjoyed many happy times with family and friends up at their cabin in Pembine and wintering in Florida. Ron and Shirley enjoyed many travels in the United States, Europe, Israel, and Peru personally, and with their tour business Happy Trails Tours, sharing travel memories with so many special people.
Ron worked at Otte Bus Service as a mechanic, school bus, and charter coach driver. Ron enjoyed woodworking and many projects for his family and church.
Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Reformed Church, 243 S. 4th St. Cedar Grove on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 2:00pm. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service by visiting wenig.live/RonMeinen. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, March 26, 3:00 - 7:00pm and again at the church on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 12:30 - 1:30pm.
