Rosemary Grace Eigenberger, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She had suffered a brain hemorrhage and in her own way she had given her loved ones time to say good-bye.. Rosemary was born on the Nigh family farm in rural Kewaskum September 24, 1924. She was the eldest of 5 children of the late Walter and Lucille (Harter) Nigh. She grew up there on the homestead. Living through the depression, she recalled a simple, hardworking life that was also filled with love, laughter, music, and storytelling. In 1940 the family moved to Plymouth, WI. Rosemary graduated from Plymouth High School in 1942. On November 28, 1946 she married Warren Eigenberger at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. They settled in Sheboygan Falls, and together they raised a family of 13 children. This was her "true love" in life until the end. From 1972-1982 they owned & operated the Villager restaurant in Sheboygan Falls. After visits to northern Wisconsin, they decided to purchase a resort near Eagle River. Together they ran "Warren's Cottages" for nearly 20 years. This was their 2nd home and made many dear friends during those times. Rosemary loved word puzzles and playing anagrams with her sisters. She created unique and clever, and always humorous birthday cards for so many. She had a great wit and a sharp memory. If you were spending time with Rosemary, you were enjoying that time, she made it so easy to love her. She also loved her grandchildren's many band concerts, plays, dance, and piano recitals, attending as many as she could. Rosemary also had an interest in writing and had taken several classes over the years at the UW-Sheboygan Center. She had a talent for writing and had several poems published. She had taken great pride in her writing of "The Walter and Lucille Story" - a historical account of her family. Just last summer she spent a week in Door County attending a writer's workshop. She had the whole group loving her by the end of the week. She never wanted to stop learning. Having received a computer at age 76, she was soon navigating her was through emails and the internet. Just recently she became a Facebook friend, much to the delight of her children and grandchildren. Rosemary was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sheboygan Writers Club. Together with Warren they were in the Falls Fun Club and she was a member of the 500 card club for 55 years. She had also volunteered at The Sheboygan Falls Historical Society.
