Sharon "Speedy" Hitsman

Sharon “Speedy” Hitsman, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully while vacationing in Las Vegas with friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. She was 64 years old.

Speedy was born February 12, 1962 in Manitowoc, the daughter of Leo and Georgeen (Sittman) Burns. She grew up in Brillion, attending Brillion High School.

A proud mom to Duane, Heather and Todd, Speedy’s heart grew even larger with the birth of her grandchildren. Always present and supportive, Speedy enjoyed spending time with them, her extended family and her beloved dogs.

A familiar face with a friendly smile and infectious laugh, Speedy owned The Franklin House in Sheboygan Falls since 1997. Over the last 10 years, she operated the bar alongside her sister-in-law and partner in crime, Tammy Burtard. Her legacy of caring for everyone who crossed her path, and helping them as long as they needed, will live on.

Speedy is survived by her children: Duane Hitsman of Plymouth and Heather (Ryan) Dana of Sheboygan; her grandchildren that she loved immensely: Bryce and Jordy Hitsman and Ty and Bri Dana; her parents, Leo and Georgeen Burns of Brillion; brothers Randy “Al” (Carla) Burns and Kevin (Marlo) Burns; her Hitsman family; many dear friends.

Speedy was greeted in heaven by her beloved son Todd who passed in 2022 and her grandma Eleanore Sittman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at River Park (large shelter) in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, July 19 from 12PM noon – 4:00PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in her name.
