Sharon Telschow

Sharon Lucille (Clifton) Telschow received the ultimate birthday present, going to heaven and joining the Lord on her 89th birthday, July 19, 2024. She was born in Austin, Minnesota on July 19, 1935, to Kenneth and Lucille Clifton, the first of five children. She attended school in Owen and Stratford, WI and graduated from Stratford High School in 1953, where she met the love of her life, Gene Telschow. They were married on December 12, 1953, and moved to Wausau, WI to start their family. God blessed them with 3 children: Debra, Jeanne, and Kevin. Their young family transferred to Sheboygan 7 years later where they lived for many years.

Sharon worked in retail sales, enjoying interacting with customers and meeting new people. She loved the thrill of a sale almost as much as winning at the casino. Sharon and her sister Sandy, affectionately known as “The Gold Dust Twins”, loved going to the casino, playing their favorite card games, and traveling to Florida. She also enjoyed fun times together with Sandy and husbands, Gene and Ray, and numerous friends. Sharon loved painting pictures, baking in her kitchen, and special time with her 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She also loved all of the many family dogs.

In 1985, Sharon and Gene moved to a log cabin home they nicknamed “The Ponderosa”, located in Johnsburg, WI where they lived out their retirement years together. After Gene joined the Lord in 2012, Sharon moved to Weston, WI to be near her sister Sandy. Her recent home was Azura Memory Care of Sheboygan where she passed peacefully on her 89th birthday, Friday July 19th.

Survivors include: her daughter Debra of Marietta, GA; her daughter Jeanne (Hank) Lewis of Gainesville, GA, and their son Kyle Lewis; her son Kevin (Lori) Telschow of Oostburg, WI, and their children Zachary (Rachel) Telschow, Kady (Adam) Magnuson, Abby (Aaron) Triphan, Karly (Jason) Croatt, and Andrew (Aimee) Telschow. She is also survived by 3 step grandsons: Henry (Stacy) Lewis, Steven Lewis (Jennifer Brown), and Matthew Lewis. She is further survived by her sister Sandy Gross, and brother Scott (Sharon) Clifton, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Walter Telschow; her brothers Aaron Clifton and Steve Clifton; her parents, Kenneth and Lucille Clifton; and her in-laws, Frieda (Telschow) and Carl Marquardt.

Sharon will be honored with a public visitation at 11:00 until the time of funeral service at 12:00; to be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, WI on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The service will be officiated by pastors Jason Croatt and Adam Magnuson. A meal will be served following the service. Sharon’s interment will be held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Stratford, WI at 12:00 on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
