Stanley Lammers, of Oostburg, passed away unexpectedly on his farm on Wednesday afternoon, July 16, 2025 doing what he loved. He was 60 years old.
Stanley was born March 24, 1965 in Sheboygan, the son of LeRoy and Arline (Meyer) Lammers. He grew up in Oostburg, graduating from Oostburg High School in 1983. On March 3, 1990 he was united in marriage with Wendy Rogers at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Growing up on a farm, Stan was raised with a strong work ethic, love for his family, and pride in his work. A natural caregiver, he spent his life caring for his family, land and community in various capacities. Stan embodied all that it meant to be a small-town farmer; he was a gentle, kind soul who could talk to anyone and loved to make people laugh. His legacy stretches far beyond the edges of his field.
A faithful believer, Stan was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg where he served as an usher as well as a parent supervisor for the kid’s club. He loved politics, and was active on the Town of Holland Board for the last 30 years, FSA Board, Sheboygan County Board, Wisconsin Town Association, Hartman Cemetery Board and Theresa Insurance Board. Previously, he had served on the Adell Coop Board and the Oostburg School Board, as well as the Town Constable and Town of Holland Highway Supervisor.
Together with Wendy, Stan loved entertaining and gathering people together. He looked forward to neighborhood movie nights, and meals shared with friends. The couple enjoyed shooting darts, Sunday day trips and popcorn dinners.
Stan is survived by his wife Wendy and their daughters Heather (Dylan) Boden of Sheboygan and Sabrina (fiancé Raymond Polgar) Lammers of Oostburg. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Cindy (Bob) Hemauer and Vicki (Dave) Cain-Jenkins, both of Plymouth, brothers-in-law Chuck (Michelle) Rogers of Plymouth and Mark Hopeman of Cedar Grove, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Andrew and Joanne Rogers, brother Jim Lammers, sister Debbie Hopeman and niece Amy Hopeman.
Funeral Services celebrating Stanley’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at First Reformed Church in Oostburg with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Stan’s obituary page at wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 22 from 4:00-8:00PM and again at the church on Wednesday, July 23 from 10:00 until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Campus Life or First Reformed Church’s Food Vault or Youth Ministry.
The family would like to thank the Oostburg Fire Department, First Responders, EMT’s, and their family, friends and neighbors, especially Nate Voskuil, Jan Rauwerdink, Scott and Mark Arentsen and Brenda Mentink for their endless and compassionate support.
