Susie Alfonsi

Susan F. Alfonsi, 69, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away with her family by her side on Monday, September 11, 2023, in Miami, Florida.

Susie was born on September 14, 1953, in Sheboygan, daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Kohlhagen) Schaafs.  She was a 1972 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School.  She fell in love with her high school sweetheart and married Gregory Alfonsi at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on May 11, 1974.  Susie worked at Richardson Brothers and Bemis, eventually retiring from Bemis after 25 plus years of dedicated work.

Susie was a woman of many gifts. She was a gifted gardener, an avid reader, and traveling all over the country, especially to the Florida Keys and Northern Wisconsin.

Susie was a dedicated mom and grandma and found great joy in spending time with her family in any capacity. Throughout countless birthday parties, Sunday dinners, holidays, or family milestones, she was the glue that held her family together. She was strong, resilient, sacrificial, and loved to laugh. Her life has left a remarkable impact and will be forever missed.

Susie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gregory of Sheboygan Falls; her children, Lauren (Joe) Koch of Mukwonago, Tony Alfonsi of Belgium, Kelly Cook of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Lily Koch, Madeline Koch, Gregory Koch, Charlotte Koch, Isabella Alfonsi, Emma Cook, Johnathan Cook; sisters, Donna (Jack) Felch of Sheboygan Falls, Karen (Kerry) Mueller of Sheboygan Falls; brothers-in-law, Brian Alfonsi and David Alfonsi. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Schaafs; parents-in-law, John Alfonsi & Virginia (Donald) Rettler; sister-in-law, Gail Alfonsi.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Father Jonathon Schmeckel officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:45 am.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name.
