Thomas M. Ziegler

Thomas Michael Ziegler, 76, passed away peacefully at his Sheboygan home on Monday morning, September 15, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer.

Thomas was born June 26, 1949 in Sheboygan, son of William and MaryAnn (Madson) Ziegler. He grew up in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1968.

On July 12, 1986 he was united in marriage to Jan Kruis Ziegler on a boat in Lake Michigan.

Tom was employed at The Wharf the last 51 years, handing in his keys just a few weeks ago.

In his earlier years, Tom was a founding member of Lakeshore Surf Club, and the President of the Sheboygan Area Great Lakes Sport Fisherman Club. Later, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, grilling out, watching NASCAR and The Green Bay Packers. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog Oscar.

Tom is survived by his wife Jan, children: Dawn (Don) Anderson, Jamie Ziegler, Nathaniel Forward and Tiffany Forward; grandchildren: Robert Sanford, Dylan Ziegler, Taylor (Labrisha) Blevons, Breanna Sanford, Trent Choma, Andrew Forward, Nadia Stuefen and Angelina Stuefen; great-grandsons Owen Sanford and Kyree Blevons; brother-in-law “Uncle Dale” Kruis; aunt Nancy Feldhausen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother William (Joyce) Ziegler, sister Joanne Bohenstengel, and parents-in-law Henry and Frances Kruis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave. in Oostburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00AM-1:00PM. He will be laid to rest at Oostburg Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in his name to be put towards a memorial.
