Todd Daane

March 2, 1963 — December 9, 2021

Oostburg

David “Todd” Daane, 58, of Oostburg, entered eternal life on December 9, 2021, with his family by his side. Even amidst his many prolonged health issues, he knew that his life was in the hands of His Lord.

Todd was born on March 2, 1963, to David M. & Clara (Todd) Daane.  He was a 1981 graduate of Oostburg High School.

On October 8, 1983, Todd married the love of his life and his best friend, Tammy L. Gabrielse in Oostburg. Todd counted his wife and four sons as his greatest blessing.

Todd was the fourth-generation owner of his family business, Daane Hardware, which began in 1901. Todd loved his work. He found great joy and meaning in serving his customers and community in any way that he could.

Todd was an active member of his community: serving on the Oostburg Fire Department for over 25 years, coaching high school Trap Shooting for over 15 years, serving at his church as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Trustee, volunteering at Samaritans Hand, teaching hunter safety education, was a member of Sauk Trail Conservation Club and a generous supporter of many wildlife and conservation organizations.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and spending time at his family cottage at the lake with his friends and family. Todd was caring, generous, a friend to many, and lived life to its fullest. He will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Todd is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tammy Daane of Oostburg; four sons, Tyler (Amanda) Daane of Sheboygan Falls, Lucas (Loraine) Daane of Oostburg, Sawyer (Courtney) Daane of Oostburg, and Samuel Daane of Oostburg; four grandchildren, Makayla Daane, Clayton LaFave, Brooks Daane, Peter Daane; sister, Sarah (Richard) Lutze of Kiel; brother, Peter Daane of Chicago; stepmother, Marjorie Daane; uncle, Peter (Ramona) Daane and their daughter, Angela (Chad) Miller; sisters-in-law, Pat(Roy) Ingelse, Dawn (Brian) DeMaster, Rachel (Mike) Ritterling; brothers-in-law, Steve (Peggy) Gabrielse, and Tim (Laura) Gabrielse. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.

Todd is preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
