Virginia M. Boetcher (nee VanEngen), 92, passed away Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her family.
Virginia was born March 5, 1930 in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of Jacob and Inez (nee Deharsh) VanEngen. She attended school in Sheboygan Falls, graduating from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1949.
On September 24, 1949, Virginia was united in marriage with Frederick Boetcher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
After her marriage, Virginia worked at St. Nicholas Hospital in the kitchen for a few years. in 1952, she went to work in the office at Richardson Brothers Furniture Factory where she remained until her retirement in 1993.
Virginia was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, embroidering, wordsearch books, and planting flowers around the house. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always there for her family.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Barbara (Dennis) Petrie of Sheboygan Falls, 2 granddaughters: Renee Rauwerdink of Cascade and Sarah (Rich) Pfister of Sheboygan Falls; 4 great-grandsons: Justin (fiancé Brianna Mallmann) and Jared Rauwerdink and Garrett and Jameson Pfister. She is further survived by her sisters Joan (Connie) Zimmermann of Kohler, Mary Lou Beeck of Sheboygan Falls, Kathleen (Richard) Kettner of Manitowoc, Judy Frank of Manitowoc; brother Richard (Janette) VanEngen of Sheboygan; sisters-in-law Gloria VanEngen Lorenz of Sheboygan and Bev VanEngen of Sheboygan Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fred, her parents, her parents-in-law Otto and Alice Boetcher, 2 brothers, 4 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Pastor Rob Schrader officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 12PM noon until the time of services at 2:00PM.
She will be laid to rest at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery beside Fred.
