Virginia "Ginny" Audrey Bourne

Virginia “Ginny” Audrey Bourne, 92, of Oostburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Sheboygan Senior Community.

Ginny was born on November 10, 1932, to Henry and Teckla (Weckworth) Cassabaum in Milwaukee. She graduated from Bayview High School and went on to Alverno College and Marquette University to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing degree.

Ginny and Jim were married on July 31st of 1952 at Chapel of the Cross in Bay View (Milwaukee) Wisconsin. They had 69 wonderful years of loving marriage together before Jim’s passing in 2021.

Ginny was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg for many years, where she was an usher and elder. She enjoyed being involved in small group at church. Ginny was a member of American Nurses Association, Rainbow Kids, and UNA Hospice Consultants.

She enjoyed hiking, swimming, reading and playing bridge. Ginny loved the lake and spending time with family. Jim and Ginny have a memorial bench at Harrington Beach State Park Quarry in Belgium.

Ginny is survived by her children James (Marie), William (Heidi), Robert (Danny), Jean (Dawn), and Thomas (Teresa); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim Bourne, parents, sister Dorothy Switalski, and sister-in-law Gladys Bourne.

A memorial service will be held for Ginny at First Reformed Church in Oostburg on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends may greet the family at church from 9:00am until the time of service.
