Virginia Lucille Rettler, 94, of Sheboygan Falls, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Haven Drive.

Ginny was born on December 12, 1928, to Stanley and Mary (Wilcenski) Dobrzynski. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946.

Ginny was united in marriage to John T. Alfonsi in 1950. Together, they raised 3 sons. John preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Donald Rettler in September of 1983. Donald preceded her in death in May of 1988.

Ginny was a lifelong member of Blessed Trinity Parish and was a part of the Christian Mothers group. She was also a member of a senior bowling league. She was employed at Kohler General in office maintenance for over 20 years and worked at Depke’s Shoe Store.

Ginny enjoyed going for walks and gardening. She loved to cook and bake for her family and took pride in hosting all family gatherings. Ginny had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face. She was an avid Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks fan. In her younger years, she enjoyed going up north every year to visit the Alfonsi family.

Ginny is survived by her sons, Gregory Alfonsi of Sheboygan Falls, Brian Alfonsi of Kohler, and David Alfonsi of Sheboygan; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 stepchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Dobrzynski; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband(s); daughters-in-law, Gail Alfonsi, Susan Alfonsi; parents; 2 brothers, Leo (Betty), Chester (Cecilia), Wally, and Ted (Mildred) Dobrzynski.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at Blessed Trinity Parish. She was laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.

Memorials are appreciated in Ginny’s name to Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County.

Ginny’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
