Wayne Dulmes

Wayne Willard Dulmes, 90, of Oostburg, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.Wayne was born on January 22, 1928, in the Town of Lima, to Jesse and Clara (Jensema) Dulmes and graduated from Oostburg High School. Wayne worked as a wholesale fuel distributor and later worked at Larsen Canning Company as a field man until his retirement in 1993. He also owned and operated a farm where he raised hogs and cash crops. On June 23, 1948, Wayne married Violet Ruselink in Kohler. Violet preceeded Wayne in death on January 24, 1991. On February 14, 1995, Wayne married Lois (Ten Haken) Beernink. He was a faithful member of Hingham Reformed Church where he served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the church choir, a men's quartet, and directed the Men's Chorus. Over the years, he was active in the Pine Haven Men's Chorus, Hingham Athletic Association, and volunteered as the announcer for the Hingham Fast Pitch teams for over 42 years. Wayne enjoyed baseball, bowling, gardening, wood working, traveling, and playing cards, dominoes, and jig-saw puzzles. Wayne is survived by his wife, Lois Dulmes; daughter, Judy (Glen) Blok; three sons, Kenneth (Debbie) Dulmes, Robert Dulmes, Larry (Mary) Dulmes; four step-daughters, Sally (Glenn) Den Hollander, Lynn Westerbeke, Faye (Vern) Frier, Sherri (Tim) Lensen; step-son, David (Cheryl) Beernink; step-son-in-law; Jack Prisinger; 11 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (John) Vruwink; a sister-in-law, Noreen (Richard) Seekins.Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Dulmes; infant daughter, Jane Dulmes; grandson, Curtiss Dulmes; two brothers, Derwin (Jeanette) Dulmes, Clifford (Beatrice) Dulmes; a step-daughter, Mary Prisinger, and a sister-in-law, Nora (Norbert) Brasser. A funeral service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Hingham Reformed Church with Dr. Ken Moberg officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Friday, January 4, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery.A memorial fund is being established in his name for Campus Life Ministries and WVCY Radio.
