Wayne M. Richter

Wayne M. Richter, Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was 93 years old.

Wayne was born June 22, 1933 in Sheboygan, son of Elmer and Lorraine (Zimbal) Richter. He attended school in Sheboygan, and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1957. He was a proud member of the American Legion #149.

On May 17, 1958 he was united in marriage with Arline Roehrborn at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

A familiar face in Sheboygan, Wayne retired after 30 years working with the City of Falls Department of Public Works. In his retirement, he and Arline spent their winters in Arizona for 18 years.

A musician and music lover, Wayne enjoyed playing the accordion. He led the Wayne Richter and The Polka Boys band for 10 years, and continued through the years to play for family and friends.

He and Arline enjoyed traveling; from camping when their daughters were young, to cruises and driving across the US in their motorhome, countless memories were made. Wayne was a huge Brewers fan and had enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards and games with his family and friends. A handyman and woodworker, Wayne was known to tackle most projects and renovations with a DIY approach. Armed with an impeccable memory and fun-loving personality, he leaves behind a lasting legacy and will be missed by many.

Wayne is survived by his wife Arline and their daughters: Barbara (Grant) Gruenke of Aurora, IL, Sharon (Mike) Schug of Two Rivers, WI and Carolyn (Jim) Kvindlog of Waldo, WI; grandchildren: Jolene (David) Kamin, Holly (Aaron) Timm, Lindsay (Kevin) Meyer, Ryan (Anne) Schug, Tom (Aarika) Schug, Steve (Jordan) Schug, Preston Kvindlog and Hailey Kvindlog (fiancé Ryan); great-grandchildren: Laurel, Emma, Wesley, Greya, Brady, Molly, Tripp, Nash, Atlas, Kayliegh, Easton, Rayelle, Adalyn and Elliot; sisters-in-law Delores (Bill) Ochs and LaVerne Kaiser; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet (Charles) Hart, brothers-in-law Edgar (Josephine) Roehrborn and Melvin Kaiser, and niece Julie Maciosek.
