William Jacob Hoegger, 90, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, February 5th, 2021.William was born on November 23, 1930, in Newton, Wisconsin, son of Robert and Ester Hoegger. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School. He participated in Football, Track and Gymnastics.On December 12, 1955 he married Evelyn Gunkel in Dubuque, Iowa. William was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church of Sheboygan Falls, holding many positions like Sunday school teacher, choir member, elder and usher.William was an electrical foreman and retired after 42 years of service with the Kohler Company. He also worked in landscaping/tree trimming and worked at the Stardusk outdoor theater.He had 21.5 years of military service, serving in Korea and Japan and obtaining the rank of Master Sargent. He was a paratrooper with the Army Airborne. One of his biggest thrills, was helping out Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio in Japan. They were grateful and granted him an interview for the military newspaper. He was also fortunate to go on the military Honor Flight to Washington, DC.He was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. Loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting. Enjoyed traveling and working in his big garden. William was proud of his community and with Evelyn, volunteered with numerous organizations such as, St. Paul Trash and Treasure and Couples Club, Campfire Girls Camp Director, Sheboygan Falls Food Panty, Lifetime Achievement with Sheboygan Community Players, Thrivent, AFS host, Optimist Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Blood Donor, and VFW member.Best of all William was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he loved God.William is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Julie) Hoegger of Champlin, MN; daughter, Jodine Rodriguez of Melbourn, FL; six grandchildren: Heidi Hoegger, Mark (Stephanie) Hoegger, Mallory (Kevin) Osborn, Julie (Austin) Shawinsky, Kayla Konz and Samantha (Jamie) Holmes-Konz; three great grandsons: Logan LeFors, Robert Hay and Leland Hoegger; and one great granddaughter Audra Hoegger. He is further survived by his sisters, Anita Knaub and Jane Busch; sister-in-laws, Shirley (Robert) Hoegger and Shirley (James) Lee; their foreign exchange student, William Doggart of Bangor Northern Ireland; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; parents; parents-in-law; brothers Robert Hoegger and Norman Hoegger, brothers-in-laws, Lee Knaub, Elroy Busch, and Alfred Gunkel, and sister-in-laws, Karen Hoegger and Mary Gunkel.A funeral service to celebrate William's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday February 13th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. . Burial will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00pm. Wearing a mask and social distancing is required. Due to restrictions, we are unable to have a luncheon on that day.
