Sheboygan Falls

Carol J. Debbink, 92, of Sheboygan Falls passed away into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 22, 2022.  She was a life-long resident of Sheboygan Falls and a recent resident of Pine Haven Christian Community.

She was born on February 4, 1930, in the Town of Lima, Sheboygan County, to Archie and Irene (Ten Haken) Pietenpol.  She attended Ourtown Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1947.  After graduation she worked for Sheboygan Falls Woolen Mills and Bemis Manufacturing.  Prior to retiring she provided cleaning services.  She married the late Paul W. Debbink on September 15, 1950, at her parent’s home in the Town of Lima.  They were married for 67 years until Paul’s passing on February 12, 2018.

Carol was a member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Junior Superintendent, was a member of the Martha Circle and Women’s Guild, and served as a Bible study leader.  Carol was an active leader in 4-H, attended the Sheboygan County 4-H Leaders Association, and County Fair Association meetings.  She enjoyed leading 4-H, cooking, baking, music, and scrapbooking of news events for 70 years. She also traveled extensively with her late husband around the United States, Canada, and Europe.  Most of all, she enjoyed being with family and attending grandchildren and great-grandchildren activities.

She was survived by daughters Mary (Mark) Huenink of Cedar Grove and Jo Anne (Dennis) Nipple of Marinette; sons, Jon (Denise) Debbink of Pewaukee and Mark (Sandy) Debbink of Sheboygan Falls, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her brother Dale (Sarah) Pietenpol, and a sister-in-law Mary Pietenpol.  She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, parents, infant daughter Gayle, sister Ione (Ronald) Heinen, and brother Glenn Pietenpol.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 10:30 am at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Brad Veenendaal officiating.  Guests can greet the family on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.  She will be laid to rest in Gibbsville Cemetery.
