Charlotte Rahn

Charlotte M. Rahn, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday morning, July 21, 2021, at her home in Sheboygan surrounded by her family.

Char was born in Sheboygan on September 23, 1944, to Lester and Alda (nee Dulmes) Lammers. She attended Gibbsville grade school and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1962. She continued her studies at Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee to be an RN, later completing her BSN through Mount Senario College. She worked as a dedicated nurse at Memorial Hospital, Morningside Nursing Home and Sunny Ridge Nursing Home.

On April 1, 1967, she was united in marriage with Kenneth H. Meyer. The couple raised three girls: Amy, Christine and Becky. Kenneth preceded her in death in 1991. On September 11, 1993, she was united in marriage with Eldon Rahn.

She was an active member and volunteer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She volunteered at Campus Life, Trinity Lutheran School, St. Mark’s Food Pantry, Emmaus Meals, and Neat Repeats Thrift Store in Plymouth.

Char was always excited to attend the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, writing letters, and being active. Above all, Char enjoyed being with her family and friends. Char was a giver.  She was caring, generous, and thoughtful.  She set the example of what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

Char is survived by her husband Eldon and three daughters: Amy (Eric) Glewen of Sheboygan, Christine (Jesse) Dean of Ramsey, MN, and Becky (Alan) Raasoch of Plover. She is further survived by her step-children: Jennifer Vreeke, Wade (Ann) Rahn and Valerie Rahn; grandchildren: Emily, Jacob, Megan and Zachary Glewen, Grace and Drew Dean, Matthew and Hannah Vreeke, and Joseph and Madelyn Rahn; brother, Jerome (Elaine) Lammers. Charlotte is further survived by beloved nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Kenneth and Myrtle Meyer and Alfred and Viola Rahn; and step-daughter Debbie Rahn.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave in Sheboygan, with Pastor Berg officiating.  Visitation will take place at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Friday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lutheran High School Expansion Program, Trinity Boiler Fund or Campus Life.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, specifically to Mary Ann, Sherry, Lee, Kim, and Emily for their kind and compassionate care.
