David Herzog

October 19, 1949 — September 6, 2021

Kohler

David Herzog, 71, of Kohler, formerly of Warrington, PA., passed away on September 6, 2021, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice after a short battle with cancer.

David was born on October 19, 1949, to Hilary and Katherine (Garczynski) Herzog in Detroit, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Herzog on March 18, 1972.

David was very accomplished academically and professionally- obtaining his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in biochemistry, later completing his educational journey at the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Ph.D. in microbiology. Over his tenure in medical device research and development, he had many successful business ventures, especially with his great friend Douglas Olson.

But far beyond his professional accomplishments, David was a dedicated and caring family man. He had a kind, quiet demeanor, but had a way of making his presence known (often with a good Dad joke). In his free time, he enjoyed playing many sports, all kinds of music, and reading non-fiction.  But mostly he enjoyed any time spent with his family and friends, especially his four granddaughters.

David is survived by Kathie Herzog of Kohler; two sons, Matthew (Sarah) Herzog of Williamsburg, VA, and Gregory (Megan) Herzog of Sheboygan; and a brother, Lawrence (Kathy) Herzog of Grosse Pointe, MI.

David is preceded in death by his parents.

A private family service has taken place.

Memorial gifts can be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
