Edythe "Edie" LeRoy

Edythe "Edie" LeRoy, 87, formerly of 1163 Fond Du Lac Ave, Sheboygan Falls passed away peacefully Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Rocky Knoll Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident since 2016.

Edie was born Edythe Preder on April 26, 1933, the youngest of 9 children to the late John and Alice (Shaver) Preder in Sheboygan Falls.

A lifelong resident of Sheboygan Falls, Edythe was employed at several of the local restaurants and florist shops early in her adult life, but it was her love of animals that led her to begin her own dog grooming business that she ran for nearly 30 years.

On October 23rd, 1954 Edie was married to David LeRoy by the local Baptist minister at a small ceremony in her parents’ home in Sheboygan Falls. They were married for nearly 60 years until David’s death in December 2013.

Edie was a person of many interests and talents, she enjoyed Cooking, baking, and crafting as well as gardening and taking care of her home. An outgoing person with an infectious laugh, she had many friends and was always there when someone needed help. She will be greatly missed.

Edie was preceded in death by her husband, David, parents, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her son, Kevin and her sister-in-law, Phyllis (DeSmith) Preder, both of Sheboygan Falls, as well as many nieces and nephews around the country.

Family and friends are welcome to greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. A private memorial service to celebrate Edie’s life will be held. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery.
