Elaine Marie Luedtke, 85, of Plymouth, passed away on January 7, 2022, at Plymouth Health Services.

Elaine Winkler was born on October 11, 1936, to Joseph F. & Ione F. (Halbach) Winkler. She attended St. John The Baptist Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Plymouth High School. On November 12, 1955, she married Bernard H. Luedtke at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, where she was a faithful member. They lived much of their life in Plymouth, Door County, and Elkhart Lake. She was an avid reader, and took great pride in her family.

Favorite things: reading the ending of a book first, beauty in all its forms, kindness, musicals, the Irish blessing, pie, seeing the Ocean for the first time, and an epic trip by train to Portland, Oregon to visit her daughters and granddaughter.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn McCabe, of Waldo; her brother, Joseph Winkler of Plymouth; her children, Michael Luedtke, Plymouth; Bernard A. Luedtke and his spouse, Carrie Coppersmith, Plymouth; Nancy Luedtke, San Francisco, CA; Doreen Luedtke, Portland, OR; and granddaughter Andrea Luedtke, Portland OR; sister-in laws, Audrey Nolan, Markesan; Jean Luedtke, Plymouth; brother-in-law Donald (Kathleen) Nicodemus, Columbus, OH; and her son, Daniel’s, life partner, Karen Blaedow, Madison.

She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Luedtke, infant daughter, Diane Luedtke, son, Daniel Luedtke, parents, Joseph & Ione Winkler; brother-in law, Eugene (Marilyn) McCabe; her in-laws Bernard & Winifred (Halton) Luedtke Miske, sister-in-laws, Kathleen (Donald) Nicodemus, Joyce (Robert) Grossheim, Doreen (Jack) Masterson; brother-in laws, Gerald (Jean) Luedtke and John (Audrey) Nolan.

Private family graveside services will take place at St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Plymouth where Elaine will be laid to rest.

Memorial donations can be made in Elaine's name to St. John The Baptist Parish Catholic Church, Plymouth.
