Joseph Reklaitis, 87, went home to be with his Lord peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022 at his home in Sheboygan Falls.

Joseph was born January 13, 1935 in Sheboygan, the son of Stanley and Margaret (Kadurko) Reklaitis. He attended school in Sheboygan, and went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1953-1956. On January 7, 1961 he was united in marriage with Jane F. Bethke at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Jane preceded him in death in 2016. On August 4, 2018, Joe was united in marriage with Sharon (Dana) Noel in Sheboygan Falls.

For 33 years, Joe worked as a custodian for the Sheboygan Area School District, retiring in July 1994.

Joe was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. He enjoyed drawing and sketching, dancing, going for scenic drives and spending time at the Sheboygan County airport watching planes with his wife Jane, and traveling around the US by airplane and train with his wife Sharon.

Joe is survived by his wife Sharon; his children: Dennis (Vicki) Shaffer of Tacoma, WA, Angela Jane (Ivan) VerGowe of Oostburg and Joseph Francis (Michelle) Reklaitis of Concord, NE; five grandchildren, Andrea (Aaron) Covey, Andrew (Laura) VerGowe, Micah Reklaitis, Malakai Reklaitis, Johannah Reklaitis, Stephen Shaffer, Misty (Fred) Smith (Shaffer), Douglas (Kerri) Shaffer; great-grandchildren: Autumn, Ingrid, Walter, Aryana, Kaleigh, Dallen, Dayton, Carter, and one on the way; great-great-grandchildren, Kehlani and Kaliah; sister Ann Zurheide of Sheboygan; sister-in-law Carol Bethke and brother-in-law Ronald (Lily) Dana. He is further survived by Sharon’s family; children: Sherry (Michael) Wade, Jerry B. (Debbie) Noel, Bonnie (Tony) Mascipinto, Tammy (Scott) Quinn and Jessi (Nathan) Voskuil; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Jane, parents, brother William (Beatrice) Reklaitis, sisters Antonette (Albert) Wilke and Mary Reklaitis, step-sister Margaret (Mike) Demos and step-brothers Andrew (Pearl) Savinski, Paul (Margaret) Savinski and Stanley (Teletha) Savinski.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Father Jonathon Schmeckel officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday from 11:00AM-1:00PM. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls beside Jane.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Tender Hearts Senior Care for the compassionate care they extended Joe and his family.
