Lavonne Huibregtse, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Giddings Avenue Campus.

Lavonne was born on September 17, 1938, to Marvin and Mildred (Jensema) Brill in Sheboygan. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1957. On June 24, 1961, Lavonne was united in marriage to James Huibregtse at First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg.

Lavonne was a longtime, 50+ year member of First Congregational Church. She was active in many church activities and in the community. She and her husband donated and volunteered to many local organizations in Sheboygan County. Lavonne enjoyed reading, dining, dancing, baking, and cooking. She loved her travels to all 50 states and 27 countries. Lavonne enjoyed luncheons with Piggly Wiggly co-workers and High School classmates of 1957 each month.

Lavonne is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Scott (Dawn) Huibregtse of Cedarburg, Steve (Sherry) Huibregtse of Middleton; granddaughter, Britta Rose Huibregtse; brother-in-law, David DeMaster; and sisters-in-law, Colleen Kovacic, Barbara (Larry) Peterman. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lavonne is preceded in death by her son, Todd Huibregtse, parents, stepfather John Huibregtse, parents-in-law Pete and Ruth Huibregtse, brother Carl Brill, sister Eleanor DeMaster, and brother-in-law, Ronald Kovacic.

A private family service for Lavonne will be held. The Huibregtse family welcomes and appreciates visits with Jim at Pine Haven in the coming weeks and months.

Memorial donations can be made in Lavonne's name to First Congregational Church UCC, 310 Bluff Avenue, Sheboygan.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Pine Haven and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family appreciates their kind and loving care of Lavonne over the past several months.
