Lillian Veldboom

Lillian Joan (Meylink) Veldboom, 99, of Cedar Grove passed away on July 2, 2021, at Pine Haven Christian Home on Giddings Avenue, where she was a resident for the past 15 years.

Lillian was born on November 15, 1921 to John and Clara (Dana) Meylink in the Town of Holland. She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1939.  She was united in marriage to Earl W. Veldboom on December 7, 1945 at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in passing on January 14, 1971.

Lillian was a C.N.A. at St Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington and Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan before working for the Larsen Canning Company in Cedar Grove.  In retirement she volunteered at St. Nicholas Hospital and Salvation Army in Sheboygan.  Lillian was a member of First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed crocheting, trips to Grand Rapids, MI to The Other Way Ministries, and attending Card Club with ladies from Cedar Grove and Oostburg.

Lillian is survived by her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren:  son James (Elaine) Veldboom of Oostburg and grandchildren, Jon (Christine) Veldboom (great-grandchildren Hailey and Hannah),  Jerry (Amanda) Veldboom (great-grandchild Morgan), Summer (Steve) Lange (great-grandchildren Prestin, Violette, Harmonie and Scarlet), and Isaac (fiancé Kayla Rohan) Veldboom (great-grandchild Emmett); son Dean (Lori) Veldboom of Menomonie and grandson, Jason Veldboom (great-grandchildren Jack and Owen); and son Brian (Joy) Veldboom of Neenah and granddaughter, Ashley (Troy) Vandermause (great-grandchildren Carter, Emmalin, and Garrison).

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, parents, parents-in-law Fred and Sarah Veldboom, daughter-in-law Linda Veldboom, great-grandson Aiden Vandermause, siblings and in-laws:  brother Leland (Jennie) Meylink; sisters Emily (Art) Meinen, Gladys (Harry) Meerdink, Lucille (Ray) Vander Jagt, Henrietta (Harold) Meinen, Carrie (Earl) TenHaken, and Iva (Bill) TenPas; brothers-in-law Wallace (Arlene) Veldboom and Hank Vanderwalker; sisters-in-law Muriel (Don) TenHaken and infant Jeanette Veldboom.

A funeral service for Lillian will be held at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Cedar Grove, WI.

Family and friends may greet the family at church from 9:30 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lillian's name to The Other Way Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
