Sheboygan Falls

Linda Sue Ongna, 57, of Sheboygan Falls, met her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Linda was born on June 3, 1965, in Sheboygan, daughter of Ronald and Marianne (Meerdink) Jensema.  She graduated from Sheboygan County Christian High School in 1983.  On January 24, 1987, she married Brian G. Ongna in Oostburg.  After working at Hillfarm, where she met Brian, Linda joined him in running the family farm for 21 years. She also worked at Pizza Ranch as a shift manager.

Linda was then employed as a cook for Pine Haven Christian Communities for 12 years. She deeply enjoyed serving the residents. Linda found joy in baking homemade goods in her spare time for the residents to enjoy.

Linda was a faithful and lifelong member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Linda enjoyed baking, singing, craft shows, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Brian; her two daughters, Nicole Ongna of Belgium, and Jennifer (Noah) Johnson of Belgium; three grandchildren, Braylee, Cole, and Kade Johnson; her sister, Sally Jensema of Cedar Grove; two brothers, David (Linda) Jensema and Randy (Lynn) Jensema; and three sisters-in-law, Beth (Roy) Voskuil of Denmark, Bonnie (Lee) Tempas, and Barb (Dave) Tenpas.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and parents-in-law, Gordon and Sarah Ongna.

A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at Bethel OPC on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 11:00 am with Rev. David Veldhorst officiating.  Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday, August 18th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Aurora At-Home Hospice Staff for their compassionate and loving care for Linda.
