Nancy Winter

Nancy Ann Winter, 72, of Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Nancy was born to Edward and Josephine Bukowski on April 30, 1948 and grew up in Sheboygan Falls. Nancy attended St. Mary’s School from kindergarten to 8th grade. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School with the class of 1966. After high school, she attended UW-Sheboygan for two years and earned her bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison. During those years, she made many lifelong friendships.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Winter on October 29, 1970. Living in Sheboygan, she was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish, where she served as a greeter for many years. Nancy was an insurance claims adjuster for over 30 years, working for Heritage, Acuity, and Wilson Mutual Insurance companies.

Nancy appreciated art and loved to travel to art fairs. She took pride in gardening and various crafts. She was described by her friends as the glue that held them together as life pulled them in different directions. She was a fervent Badgers and Packers fan and enjoyed attending Brewers games with her friends.

Nancy is survived by her son, Charles (Kerri Rank) Winter; grandchildren, Claire and Julian Winter; sister, Mary Jane (Gerald) Conway; nieces, Joyce Conway, Suzanne (John) Sipich; nephew, Joe (Christina) Conway; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 am. If unable to attend, all are welcome to join via livestream by visiting wenig.live/NancyWinter . Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends may greet the family at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Thursday, April 22, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and at St. Dominic on Friday, from 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00 am. The family wishes to follow COVID protocols; masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to The Gathering Place.
