Robert Stoll Jr.

December 6, 1952 — January 29, 2021

Robert V. Stoll Jr., formerly of Florida, passed away on January 29, 2021, at his home in Sheboygan Falls with his wife by his side.  He was 68 years old.Bob was born December 6, 1952, in Kane, PA, the son of Robert Sr. and Marilyn (nee Nelson) Stoll.  His family moved to Florida in 1962.  In 1971, he graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, Florida.  He went on to earn his Associate Degree in Mechanical Design from Pinellas Vocational Tech in 1973.  His work from that time forward was in the Defense/Aerospace and Communications fields working on designs for Antenna Positioners and Satellite Communications for aircraft, such as JetWave, along with many other challenging projects.  He most recently worked for Honeywell in Norcross GA, retiring from there in 2016.  Bob loved the work he did and was good at it.  He was liked and respected by his colleagues, many of whom remained in contact over the years. On June 28, 1986, he was married by a dear friend to Tobi Sargent, also a designer, whom he had hired two years before.  The couple was a team in every way, and successfully navigated working together and moving with various companies from Florida to Texas, back to Florida then to Georgia before coming to Wisconsin in 2016 to be closer to his wife's family, braving the cold despite having been no farther North than Georgia since 1962. The couple shared a mutual dedication and respect for each other that was unbounded. Bob's passion was the computer.  There wasn't much he couldn't do with one, and it was the key to his continued productivity in retirement.  He kept remarkable records, designed unique woodworking pieces for his home, and had a drawing to scale for every house he lived in, including the yard and all furniture.  Bob frequently helped less computer-savvy family members figure things out.  Among his other interests were NHRA drag races which he attended with friends whenever possible.  He enjoyed music, craft beer and loved dogs.  Everyone who met Bob was better for it.  He never complained, never said no to a friend, and inspired family, friends and co-workers with his optimism and drive.Bob's greatest treasure was a life filled with enduring friendships. "Tell me who you walk with and I'll tell you who you are."  He had a wonderful group of friends who knew him as "Rob" and remained close to him from his childhood to the end of his life.  You know who you are, and how much you meant to him.  Thank you for making his life fuller, richer and happier.  Those who met and knew him as "Bob" later in his life realized that only a remarkable man can make and keep friendships such as these.Robert is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years, Tobi and a sister Peggy (Bill) Petersen of Franklin, NC.  He is also survived by his father-in-law Lloyd (Kathy) Sargent of Plymouth, sister-in-law Talli (Phil Pement) Sargent, brothers-in-law Shawn (Cindy) Sargent of Greenville and Jaime (Tonya) Sargent of Wausau.   He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and his beloved circle of friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.A private family service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association are suggested. The Wenig Funeral Home - Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) is honored to be serving the family.  Please visit www.wenigfh.com to leave online condolences.
