Ruth H. Fasse, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Ruth was born on May 19,1928 in Sheboygan, WI, the second of five children to Erich and Minnie (Reimer) Ponath. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

Ruth attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School, class of 1946. She met her husband, Harvey, at a dance at Crystal Lake, and a year later they were married on May 7, 1949. They built their first home in 1950 on the Fasse homestead land and lived there for 10 years before moving to Sheboygan Falls. In 1963, Ruth worked alongside her husband, Harvey, as they founded Fasse Paint and Decorating Co. She was a devoted partner to him in their business until her retirement in 1990.

She has been an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls since 1959, serving as a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and Quilting Group. She was a 62 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

In 1975, Ruth and Harvey fulfilled a long time dream by building a cottage in northern Wisconsin. Along with nurturing and maintaining it in pristine condition, Ruth and Harvey enjoyed hosting their children, grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Ruth’s life revolved around family and hospitality. She was happiest when caring for her children and grandchildren, and organizing family events. Her hospitality extended to those beyond her family, where her love of baking and sewing were expressed in her contribution of thousands of cookies and hundreds of quilts for church charity activities. She also volunteered at the Sheboygan Falls Food Pantry for several years. In addition, for many years, she and Harvey visited the elderly and infirmed, at local hospitals and nursing homes.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jim (Karen) Fasse of Sheboygan Falls, two daughters, Dr. Christal (Dr. James) Daehnert of Laguna Beach, CA, Carrie Lutzke of Howards Grove, five grandchildren, Patrick (Claudine) Fasse, Dr. Trisha Fasse Neerhof (Greg), Dr. Jessica Denbo (Trevor), Kimberly Lutzke (Fiance Dan Travis), Brenda Bintzler (Josh), great-grandchildren, Harper Neerhof, Madeline Fasse, Caelia and Eleni Denbo, Harvey and Huxley Bintzler, two step-great-grandchildren, Jake and Nikki Panick, one brother-in-law, Eugene Kolander and many other close relatives and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by, her husband Harvey, her parents Erich and Minnie Ponath, great grandson Elijah Bintzler, brothers Roger and Ronald, sisters Elaine and Marguerite, sisters-in-laws, Helen, Shirley and Ingred Ponath, brother-in-law Robert Worm, niece Eunice Worm, nephew Roger E.
